FAQs
General
What is Midx Media?
Midx Media is a creative studio blending music, software development, and artificial intelligence. We build custom synthesizers, train expressive AI voice models, and compose original music.
Who is behind Midx Media?
Midx Media was founded by Hamid Ahang, a musician, engineer, and cloud architect. We also collaborate with talend freelancers on various projects as needed.
Audio Tools & Software
What kinds of audio tools does Midx Media build?
Midx Media builds virtual synthesizers and other digital instruments. An example is the “Silver Synth,” a virtual synth combining rich sound design with modern usability, planned for release by the end of 2025.
When will the “Silver Synth” be released?
Silver Synth is scheduled for release by the end of 2025 under GPL which means it will be a free download.
Can I test or license Midx Media’s virtual instruments?
Currently, tools like Silver Synth are in active development. Once released, licensing and download options will be available on our site.
Do you offer custom software development for musicians or studios?
Yes. We can collaborate on building bespoke synths, audio effects, or music-tech integrations tailored to your needs.
AI Projects
What kinds of AI / ML work does Midx Media do?
The company works on AI voice training / cloning, voice synthesis, and projects that combine ML / AI with sound, such as the Ahmad Zahir AI Voice project. The work involves gathering recordings, training neural networks, signal processing, phonetic analysis, etc.
What is the Ahmad Zahir AI Voice project?
It’s a project to recreate / simulate the voice of Ahmad Zahir — an iconic artist from Afghanistan — using machine learning and digital signal processing. The process includes collecting recordings, feature extraction, training deep neural networks, pronunciation modeling, and refining audio output for realism.
What technologies / tools are used in creating your AI voice models?
The Ahmad Zahir AI Voice project uses frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow for model training; G2P (grapheme-to-phoneme) for pronunciation; Librosa for audio processing; FFMpeg for format conversions; Praat-Parselmouth for phonetics; NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, and Scikit-learn for data manipulation/statistics; Matplotlib and TensorBoard for visualization.
Can I license the Ahmad Zahir AI Voice model for my project?
At this time, the Ahmad Zahir AI project is a research and tribute project, not for commercial licensing. However, we are open to discussions on collaborations for other AI voice models.
Can Midx Media train a custom AI voice for me or my brand?
Yes. If you provide high-quality recordings and the necessary rights, we can work on building a custom AI singing or speaking model.
What’s unique about your AI music approach?
We combine deep learning, phonetics, and sound engineering to create highly expressive AI performances, rather than robotic or flat outputs.
Music Production & Original Works
Do you release original music?
Yes. Midx Media composes and releases original music, often integrating AI voice models, or producing tracks under various pseudonyms.
Where can I listen to your music / streaming platforms?
Our music is available through most major streaming platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, YouTube, iHeart etc.
Collaborations
Do you collaborate with other musicians or developers?
Absolutely. We’ve worked with both developers (e.g., Silver Synth project) and musicians. Whether you’re a coder, producer, or label, we welcome collaboration.
Can I commission an original track?
Yes. Midx Media accepts select commissions for original music—ranging from traditional acoustic to AI-augmented soundscapes.
Licensing & Rights
Can I use your music in my film, game, or media project?
Yes, but you’ll need a license. Please reach out through the Contact page for details on sync licensing or custom agreements.
What rights do I get if I license a Midx Media track?
Typically, you’ll receive a non-exclusive license to use the track in your project. Exclusive licensing and buyouts are also possible on request.
Can I remix or sample your music?
Remixing or sampling requires written permission unless otherwise noted under Creative Commons or a specific license.
